Description:

As we pass from the 9th to the 10th chapter of John, the metaphors will change but the underlying ideas and principles will remain focused on the tension between Light and darkness, the preeminence of Jesus in salvation, and His call to radical discipleship. Jesus begins to develop an extensive metaphor around a subject very familiar to His audience-- that of a shepherd and his sheep. We will look closely at this allegory and its various elements and interpretations. Ultimately we will find it is the crystalline voice of Jesus that "dis-intermingles" His sheep from the world and calls them to follow Him wherever He leads. For His voice is supremely a Voice worth Following!
