Description:

We have reached a pivotal chapter in the book of Daniel as we turn from the court stories which have dominated the book until now, to a series of apocalyptic visions. We will briefly discuss the nature of Visionary Literature and then concentrate on the details of Daniel's extraordinary vision of four terrifying beasts who rise from chaotic seas. We will delight in the amazing accuracy of Daniel's foresight into the historical period leading up to and including the coming of Christ. But we will also find comfort in the underlying message of the vision, as God passes judgment on the most terrifying of the beasts, re-assuring His people that He alone is sovereign in the universe and all who stand against Him will ultimately be judged. This will bring us great comfort as we consider the equally terrifying forces of evil we as His church face today, and rest in the knowledge that Our Lord is mightier than any of the beasts of destruction and dominion.
